North London Hospice — Aluhmora Upcycling
This project was created in collaboration with the North London Hospice charity shops and forms part of my ongoing practice in textile art, sustainability and community engagement. Working with discarded garments donated to the organisation, I transform these materials into sculptural wearable artworks that explore themes of repair, memory, and environmental awareness.
Each piece is reconstructed through hand stitching, intuitive textile processes and material experimentation, emphasising the poetic potential of reuse. Rather than functioning as fashion objects, these works operate as artistic reflections on transformation, revealing how overlooked materials can become carriers of stories, textures and new forms of expression.
The collaboration with North London Hospice aligns with my commitment to socially engaged visual arts, supporting community led creative practices while promoting a deeper understanding of sustainability as a cultural and emotional narrative. The wearable artworks developed through this partnership continue my broader artistic investigation into the relationship between body, nature and materiality.
